The Renegades of Rakhine

The Renegades of Rakhine is a real-life story set in the Rakhine State of Myanmar. This novel is inspired by the true story of a Rohingya Muslim family tortured and pushed out of their house and village in Rakhine by the Burmese army. It is story of the gruesome war of an army on its own people. Like many Rohingyas, the protagonist and his family undertake an unbelievable journey to Bangladesh. It is the story of the inhuman treatment of a people considered stateless. This novel tells the history of the Rohingyas, their miserable life in Rakhine, their being forced out of their own country, their life as refugees in inhuman conditions in Bangladesh. The story traces their journey of a renegade people into a permanent exile.
